Surgicare ASC

Tri-State Orthopaedics (TSO) is a premier 15-physician orthopedic group practice serving southwestern Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeastern Illinois. TSO wanted to develop a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center (ASC).

The physicians selected BBL to plan, design, and build the facility. The ASC is connected directly to TSO’s new orthopaedic center, and has a separate and canopied patient drop-off entrance, along with a separate and covered patient discharge exit. The facility has 4-ORs and 1-procedure room; 6-station pre-operative stations; 5-post operative bays; 8-final recovery station; 2-over night bedrooms; centralized nurse station; men’s and women’s locker area, with a lounge; and appropriate support spaces. BBL delivered the project 60-days ahead of schedule and under budget, as BBL gave money back to the physicians upon completion.

This is one of two ASCs that St. Mary's Medical Center (SMMC) operates as provider based outpatient centers. The staff is equipped to handle any outpatient surgical procedure including colonoscopies, pain injections, orthopedic procedures, ear, nose and throat cases, plastic surgery, gynecological, ophthalmologic, as well as urological and those dental procedures requiring general anesthesia.
